Racing Incident Report

During the preliminary, CHINSOLA whipped around and dislodged its rider, O Doleuze, near the entrance to the 1800 Metre chute. CHINSOLA galloped riderless to the end of the chute before being recaptured. CHINSOLA returned to the Start and was examined by the Veterinary Surgeon who said in his opinion it was suitable to race. After arriving at the Start, D Whyte (AMBITIOUS TYCOON) reported that the horse had stumbled on two occasions on the way to the barriers. AMBITIOUS TYCOON was examined by the Veterinary Surgeon who said after the necessary consultations it was considered not suitable to race. Acting on this advice, the Stewards ordered the withdrawal of AMBITIOUS TYCOON. Before being allowed to race again, AMBITIOUS TYCOON will be subjected to an official veterinary examination. FLYING BISHOP and CHINSOLA were slow to begin. Near the 1300 Metres, CHINSOLA, which had been shifted across to the fence and hard ridden to make up ground, was checked away from the heels of PERFECT MISSION. In the early stages until near the 800 Metres, DETERMINATION proved difficult to settle. After the 400 Metres, PARADIS was bumped by SEASONS TREASURE which shifted in. Also for some distance after the 400 Metres, CHINSOLA was unable to improve when close to the heels of FLYING BISHOP. At the 300 Metres, PERFECT MISSION, which was racing with its head up, was momentarily steadied away from the heels of SUNBELL which at this time was endeavouring to shift to the outside of SPINNING CITY to obtain clear running. SUNBELL was then steadied, shifted back in to improve and commenced to hang in. Near the 200 Metres, PERFECT MISSION got its head on the side, shifted in away from PARADIS and was steadied away from the heels of SPINNING CITY. Near the 100 Metres, G Schofield (PARADIS) dropped his whip. Throughout the race, FLYING SUCCESS raced wide and without cover. S Dye (ROYAL ARMY) said his mount travelled satisfactorily until near the 600 Metres when it commenced to over-race due to the steady tempo. He said at this time he shifted his mount out away from the heels of PERFECT MISSION which shifted out. He said ROYAL ARMY then again travelled satisfactorily until after straightening, however, when placed under pressure was somewhat reluctant to shift out into clear running and then when in the clear near the 200 Metres failed to close the race off as he had hoped. S Dye was unable to offer any explanation for the performance of ROYAL ARMY. ROYAL ARMY was sent for an official veterinary inspection. After the race, ROYAL ARMY was examined by the Veterinary Officer who said the horse was lame in its left hind leg. Before being allowed to race again, ROYAL ARMY will be subjected to an official veterinary examination. DETERMINATION was sent for an official veterinary inspection. A veterinary inspection of DETERMINATION after the race did not show any significant findings. WIN FOR ALL and PERFECT MISSION were sent for sampling.
