Racing Incident Report
Mr A Lee, trainer of ACCLAMATION, was fined $3,000 for negligently lodging a gear change to remove pacifier from the horse's gear for today's race when it had been directed to wear this gear following its official barrier trial on 24 May 2005. STAR OF NORTHERN and FANTASTIC STAR were slow to begin. From a gate towards the outside, ACCLAMATION was steadied and taken back across behind runners to a position closer to the rail. At the 1500 Metres, VICTORY TURBO was carried wider by BRAVE COMMANDER which shifted out. After the 1400 Metres, JUST TOO GOOD (C Brown) fell when crowded for room between SPARKLE which shifted out slightly and CARRY THE MAGIC which was carried in slightly by TRIUMPH which shifted in when not quite clear. In the circumstances, having in mind all the contributing factors including the relatively small shift from both SPARKLE and CARRY THE MAGIC, the Stewards did not believe it appropriate to take action against any rider. When JUST TOO GOOD fell, DESERT STORM which was following was checked. Inconvenience was also caused to SPARKLE, OPERATION HUMOUR and FANTASTIC STAR. Near the 800 Metres, SPEED OF LIGHT was checked after bumping the running rail when crowded for room inside TRIUMPH which at this time got its head on the side and shifted in slightly despite the efforts of its rider. No action was taken. Near the 700 Metres, ACCLAMATION, which commenced to over-race, was checked and shifted in away from the heels of CARRY THE MAGIC. After the 200 Metres, TRIUMPH got its head on the side and shifted in. Because of this, D Whyte, its rider, stopped riding and straightened his mount. LIVERBIRD was sent for an official veterinary inspection. A veterinary inspection of LIVERBIRD after the race did not show any significant findings. VICTORY TURBO and SPEED OF LIGHT were sent for sampling.

JUST TOO GOOD, which fell in the race, was examined by the Senior Veterinary Officer at the stables of Trainer P F Yiu this morning. He said at this time he noted the horse to be stiff in the left hind leg. Before being allowed to race again, JUST TOO GOOD will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
