Racing Incident Report

After arriving on course, S Sanders, the declared rider for MAKE YOU JEALOUS, advised the Stewards he was unable to make the allocated weight. As such, permission was given for S K Sit to be substituted as the rider of MAKE YOU JEALOUS. Trainer T W Leung was fined $2,000 for negligently declaring S Sanders as the rider of MAKE YOU JEALOUS after having been informed prior to declarations that he would not be able to make the horse's declared weight. On jumping, SEVEN STARS was bumped by FIRST KNIGHT which began awkwardly and shifted out. FLYING PROFILE began awkwardly, bounded in the air and lost ground. After this, FLYING PROFILE was ridden along to make up ground and near the 1600 Metres was steadied to avoid the heels of ACCOLADE which at this time shifted in. No action was taken. For some distance after this, FLYING PROFILE proved difficult to settle. Shortly after the start, MAKE YOU JEALOUS, which had its head on the side, was steadied when crowded for room between JUBILOSO and CENTURY SUPER STAR which shifted in. Near the 1400 Metres, MAKE YOU JEALOUS became unbalanced and lost ground. Then after the 1400 Metres, MAKE YOU JEALOUS was steadied when awkwardly placed close to the heels of FIRST KNIGHT. At the 1000 Metres, MAKE YOU JEALOUS again became unbalanced when close to the heels of FIRST KNIGHT. After the 1000 Metres, ACCOLADE bumped the running rail. After the 400 Metres, SEVEN STARS was shifted to the inside of FLYING PROFILE. Then near the 100 Metres SEVEN STARS and FLYING PROFILE bumped. At the 300 Metres, the whip of O Doleuze (CENTURY SUPER STAR) became entangled in the end of his reins. Near the 200 Metres, FIRST KNIGHT was steadied and shifted out to avoid the heels of JUBILOSO. Over the final 200 Metres, A PLUS FIT, CENTURY SUPER STAR and SHOW BRAVELY hung in. After the 100 Metres, FIRST KNIGHT was momentarily steadied away from the heels of SPARKLE. Throughout the race, MASTER ABLE raced wide and without cover and in the early stages proved difficult to settle. C Brown (JUBILOSO) explained his mount, which has a history of hanging in, travelled comfortably until after entering the Home Straight. He said as he endeavoured to improve his position near the 300 Metres, G-ONE LEADING shifted out in front of him, causing him to steady to avoid the heels of that horse. He said as soon as this happened, JUBILOSO commenced to hang in and proved difficult to ride. He said because of this he was not able to properly test JUBILOSO. JUBILOSO, ALL CHANCES and CENTURY SUPER STAR were sent for sampling.
