Racing Incident Report
After arriving at the Start, BEAMING RIVER was examined by the Veterinary Officer. He said in his opinion the horse was suitable to race. HORACE'S HORSE was slow to begin, then shortly afterwards was bumped by GOOD TRIO which was carried out by AMBITION which shifted ground after being bumped by LUCKY TRIO. With the intention of being ridden quietly from the outside barrier, BEAMING RIVER got its head up on several occasions in the early stages when being steadied to shift across behind runners. When making the turns, LUCKY TRIO, which was racing without cover, hung out. Passing the 400 Metres, ABLE MARS was steadied when awkwardly placed inside the heels of LUCKY TRIO. After the 400 Metres, BEAMING RIVER was steadied when held up and unable to improve its position. G Schofield (FLASH MAC) explained making the turn at the 1000 Metres the horse felt abnormal in its action and hung out. He said after this FLASH MAC travelled only fairly, then making the turn at the 600 Metres again felt abnormal in its action and hung out. He said because of this he did not ride FLASH MAC out in the Straight. FLASH MAC was sent for an official veterinary inspection. A veterinary inspection of FLASH MAC after the race did not show any significant findings. The performances of LUCKY TRIO and FLASH MAC, which finished tailed out, were considered unacceptable. Before being permitted to race again, LUCKY TRIO and FLASH MAC will have to perform competitively in an official barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination. ABLE MARS was sent for an official veterinary inspection. A veterinary inspection of ABLE MARS after the race did not show any significant findings. JET RISE, BODACIOUS and ON SHAN EXPRESS were sent for sampling. After the race, it was reported AMBITION had lost its left front plate.
Additional Veterinary Reports (released on 13 April 2006)
ABLE MARS, which performed poorly, was examined by the Veterinary Officer. He said at that time there were no significant findings. ABLE MARS was again examined by the Veterinary Officer at the stables of Trainer T K Ng this morning. He said at this time he noted the horse to be lame in the left front leg. Before being allowed to race again, ABLE MARS will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
