Racing Incident Report

VITAL PATROL, first Standby Declared Starter, was withdrawn on 24.6.06 by order of the Stewards acting on veterinary advice (lame right fore). Before being allowed to race again, VITAL PATROL will be subjected to an official veterinary examination. Prior to enter the parade, SING FAY FAY had its right front plate reset. SING FAY FAY was examined by the Veterinary Officer who said in his opinion it was suitable to race. On jumping, SUPER FIGHTER and MAGIC TEMPLE bumped, causing both horses to lose ground. SING FAY FAY began awkwardly and stumbled. SHERIFF BAMBOO began awkwardly. SHERIFF BAMBOO hung out making the turn at the 1200 Metres. Making the turn at the 700 Metres, WADADELIGHT was momentarily steadied when tightened for room inside SING FAY FAY. At the 450 Metres, SUPER FIGHTER was bumped by SING FAY FAY which improved around the outside of FLAME POWER which was giving ground. For the major part of the race, GLOBAL WIN proved difficult to settle and hung out. The performance of FLAME POWER, which finished tailed out, was considered unacceptable. Before being allowed to race again, FLAME POWER will have to perform competitively in an official barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination. B Prebble (KAISER'S PRIZE) was unable to offer any explanation for the performance of the horse. He said KAISER'S PRIZE travelled comfortably in a forward position, commenced to lay in making the turn at the 700 Metres, then was a beaten horse on straightening and gave ground noticeably over the final 200 Metres. KAISER'S PRIZE was sent for an official veterinary inspection and sampling. A veterinary inspection of KAISER'S PRIZE after the race did not show any significant findings. LEGIONNAIRE was sent for an official veterinary inspection. After the race, LEGIONNAIRE was examined by the Veterinary Officer. He said the horse was "dry-coated" and distressed. Before being allowed to race again, LEGIONNAIRE will have to perform satisfactorily in an official barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination. WADADELIGHT and GLOBAL WIN were sent for sampling.
