Racing Incident Report
CHERISHED was withdrawn on raceday morning by order of the Stewards acting on veterinary advice (respiratory inspection). Before being allowed to race again, CHERISHED will be subjected to an official veterinary examination. PILLOW KING was slow to begin, then shortly afterwards was checked when crowded for room between CENAMIRA which shifted in slightly and THE ONLY ONE which on jumping was carried out by WONDERFUL BLESSING. After passing the winning post on the first occasion, WONDERFUL BLESSING proved difficult to settle. Also after passing the winning post on the first occasion, SAMBUOYANT, which had shifted to the inside of THE ONLY ONE and was then ridden along, was steadied when awkwardly placed close to the heels of THE ONLY ONE which shifted in slightly. Shortly after this, SAMBUOYANT was again steadied when awkwardly placed close to the heels of THE ONLY ONE (E Saint-Martin) which again shifted in slightly. E Saint-Martin was advised to exercise more care. At the 1500 Metres, NATURAL NINE got its head up and became unbalanced when being steadied away from the heels of CENAMIRA which at this time was being steadied and shifted in across the heels of THE ONLY ONE. Near the 1000 Metres, PILLOW KING was momentarily steadied away from the heels of SAMBUOYANT which shifted in. After the 1000 Metres, NATURAL NINE was hampered and carried wider by PILLOW KING which shifted out. Shortly after this, PILLOW KING was bumped when NATURAL NINE shifted in. At the 500 Metres, THE ONLY ONE was bumped by SAMBUOYANT which shifted out. In the Straight, WONDERFUL BLESSING shifted wider on the track. ISLAND SPIRIT was sent for an official veterinary inspection. A veterinary inspection of ISLAND SPIRIT after the race did not show any significant findings. WONDERFUL BLESSING, ALWAYS ZIETEN and SUNRISE RAINBOW were sent for sampling.
