Racing Incident Report
NATURAL ECHO and NOBLE BOSS were slow to begin. FLYING PROFILE began awkwardly, shifted in and bumped SPECTACULAR HIT which as a result was steadied and lost ground. Making the turn at the 2000 Metres, NEW TAMAR was checked when crowded for room between DANEPRINT which got its head on the side and shifted in away from LUCKY YEARS and FEBURO which got its head on the side and hung out. In the circumstances, no action was taken. NOBLE BOSS and SHOW BRAVELY, which were following, were steadied in consequence. At the 1700 Metres, SHOW BRAVELY became unbalanced when being straightened to avoid causing crowding to NOBLE BOSS. After this, SHOW BRAVELY proved difficult to settle. In the middle stages, LUCKY YEARS was left racing wide without cover. After entering the Back Straight, FEBURO became unbalanced when being steadied away from the heels of BAUHINIA. Making the turn at the 600 Metres, FEBURO got its head on the side, shifted out and was steadied away from the heels of NEW TAMAR. This caused inconvenience to NOBLE BOSS and FLYING PROFILE. Prior to straightening, LUCKY YEARS, which was commencing to give ground, was checked when awkwardly placed between SHOW BRAVELY and WISHING WELL. No action was taken. On straightening, Y T Cheng (DANEPRINT) dropped his whip. In the early part of the Straight, BAUHINIA and DANEPRINT raced tight. Then near the 200 Metres, DANEPRINT was crowded for room between BAUHINIA and SHOW BRAVELY which at this time shifted in. Over the final 200 Metres, WISHING WELL hung in. Because of this, Apprentice K L Chui, its rider, stopped riding and straightened his mount at the 150 Metres. NATURAL ECHO was sent for an official veterinary inspection. A veterinary inspection of NATURAL ECHO after the race did not show any significant findings. FEBURO and FLYING PROFILE were sent for sampling.
