Racing Incident Report
SILVER MARK was withdrawn on raceday morning by order of the Stewards acting on veterinary advice (swollen right fore fetlock). Before being allowed to race again, SILVER MARK will be subjected to an official veterinary examination. Prior to the gates opening, FAST TRACK turned its head to the right and consequently was slow to begin. SAMBUOYANT began awkwardly. LEADER shifted out at the start and bumped ACTIVE VALOUR which in turn shifted out and hampered ABLE KNIGHT. MILITARY OPTION blundered at the start. Shortly after the start, SUPER FANTASY became unbalanced after bumping with NOBLE RAIDER. From a gate towards the outside, RAIN IN SPRING was taken back behind runners. Passing the winning post on the first occasion, MILITARY OPTION and FAST TRACK raced tight inside NOBLE RAIDER which shifted in. W M Lai (SAMBUOYANT) was severely reprimanded for permitting his mount, which was inclined to lay in, to shift in near the 1400 Metres, resulting in MILITARY OPTION being steadied. Passing the 1300 Metres, NOBLE RAIDER got its head up and shifted out after being checked away from the heels of BRILLIANT ONE. After this, NOBLE RAIDER, which was racing wide and without cover, was taken back to the rear to obtain cover. Passing the 1200 Metres, LEADER was steadied away from the heels of ACTIVE VALOUR which in turn was awkwardly placed close to the heels of ABLE KNIGHT. Approaching the 900 Metres, FAST TRACK (Apprentice C K Tong) shifted out away from the heels of BRILLIANT ONE. MILITARY OPTION, which was racing keenly, then improved to the inside of FAST TRACK and approaching the 800 Metres was checked when FAST TRACK shifted in. Apprentice Tong was advised whilst MILITARY OPTION had improved when proving difficult to settle, he should ensure he gives his fellow riders sufficient racing room in similar circumstances. Shortly after entering the Straight, LEADER was checked away from the heels of ACTIVE VALOUR. Approaching the 200 Metres, MILITARY OPTION was held up for clear running on the heels of BRILLIANT ONE. Near the 150 Metres, ABLE KNIGHT raced tight inside LEADER which itself raced tight inside SUPER FANTASY when obtaining a narrow run to that horse's inside. ABLE KNIGHT and SUPER FANTASY were sent for an official veterinary inspection. A veterinary inspection of ABLE KNIGHT and SUPER FANTASY after the race did not show any significant findings. MILITARY OPTION, FAST TRACK and BRILLIANT ONE were sent for sampling.
