Racing Incident Report
When being saddled, MULTIMIGHTY lost its left front plate. This plate was reset. The horse was examined by the Veterinary Officer who said after consulting the assistant trainer of Mr A S Cruz in his opinion MULTIMIGHTY was suitable to race. On jumping, SILVER WRAITH was bumped by MULTIMIGHTY which shifted out. Also on jumping, DURABLE knuckled. Shortly after the start, ELFHELM was checked when crowded for room between KING ACRYLIC which shifted out and CLASSIC KING which was racing tight inside TRIUMPHANT DIAMOND which itself was tight inside DURABLE. Near the 1500 Metes, TRIUMPHANT DIAMOND was steadied when awkwardly placed inside the heels of DURABLE. In the early stages, MULTIMIGHTY was ridden to go forward, however, failed to muster pace, as a consequence travelled wide and without cover and in the middle stages hung out, then in the Straight gave ground. MULTIMIGHTY was sent for an official veterinary inspection. After the race, MULTIMIGHTY was examined by the Veterinary Officer. He said the horse had bled from both nostrils. Approaching the 1200 Metres, KING ACRYLIC got its head up and shifted out when being steadied away from the heels of KINGSGATE GLORY which after crossing to the lead steadied the tempo. Near the 1200 Metres, ABLE KNIGHT became unbalanced when being steadied away from the heels of SWEET BABY, then near the 1000 Metres was again steadied away from the heels of CLASSIC KING. On straightening, WAIT FOR ME was steadied away from the heels of TRIUMPHANT DIAMOND. Shortly after straightening, ELFHELM was disappointed for running between ABLE KNIGHT and SUPER FANTASY which shifted out. As a consequence, ELFHELM was steadied and shifted in, then from the 300 Metres until the 150 Metres was unable to obtain clear running between KINGSGATE GLORY and DURABLE. In the early part of the Straight, ABLE KNIGHT and WAIT FOR ME were held up and unable to obtain clear running. The performance of KA KA SMART, which finished at the tail of the field, was considered unacceptable. Before being allowed to race again, KA KA SMART will have to perform competitively in an official barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination. KINGSGATE GLORY was sent for an official veterinary inspection and sampling. DURABLE was sent for an official veterinary inspection. A veterinary inspection of KINGSGATE GLORY and DURABLE after the race did not show any significant findings. TRIUMPHANT DIAMOND and SUPER FANTASY were sent for sampling. After the race, it was reported TRIUMPHANT DIAMOND had lost its right hind plate.
