Racing Incident Report

PACIFIC ALLIANCE was slow to begin, then lost further ground when being steadied away from the heels of WONDER KID which on jumping shifted in. Shortly after the start, SPRING SMILES and CENTENNIAL SMILE lost ground when crowded for room between SUPER POWER and HARRY HARRY which got its head on the side and shifted out. Passing the winning post on the first occasion, AMAZING CHOICE raced tight inside SWEET BABY which throughout the race travelled wide and without cover. Making the first turn and also making the Home Turn, PACIFIC ALLIANCE hung out. Approaching the 800 Metres, CHINSOLA was awkwardly placed close to the heels of AMAZING CHOICE. On straightening, CENTENNIAL SMILE was steadied away from the heels of HARRY HARRY which shifted out. At the 250 Metres, AMAZING CHOICE was steadied and shifted in when disappointed for running between KEY WINNER and SWEET BABY. Close to the line, AMAZING CHOICE was awkward outside the heels of CENTENNIAL SMILE which when closing the race off strongly shifted out away from the heels of ABLE KNIGHT. Z Purton (CHINSOLA) said he had been instructed to ride the horse with cover. He said he was not told where in the field he should position the horse. He said CHINSOLA was a little slow to begin and he therefore immediately took his mount across behind runners to ensure it had cover as instructed. He said this resulted in him travelling behind midfield which was further back in the field than he had anticipated. He said in his opinion if he had ridden CHINSOLA forward from the barrier, the horse would not have obtained cover which would have been contrary to his instructions. AMAZING CHOICE, CITY SURFER and HARRY HARRY were sent for sampling. After the race, it was reported SUPER POWER had lost its right hind plate.
