Racing Incident Report

Whilst in the saddling stalls, it was noted that SCENT OF OSMANTHUS had shifted its left front plate. This plate was replaced. SCENT OF OSMANTHUS was examined by the Veterinary Officer who said in his opinion it was suitable to race. JOHN DORY began awkwardly and bumped with SUPER CAGA. MAN OF THE MATCH and BIG WINNER AGAIN were slow to begin. From wide barriers, TELECOM CHARGER, TELECOM TOP STAR and SUCCESSFUL ERA were all taken across behind runners soon after the start. For some distance after passing the 1200 Metres, MOCHI over-raced badly as its rider, Y T Cheng, attempted to obtain cover behind JOHN DORY. Approaching the 1000 Metres, PRESTO improved to be racing inside the heels of MOCHI which then obliged MOCHI to remain racing three wide and without cover for the remainder of the event. Rounding the Home Turn, SUPER CAGA lost its position after racing tight between MOCHI and CHANCELLOR (M Chadwick) which shifted out to improve its position. In this incident, SUPER CAGA made contact with the hindquarters of MOCHI which became unbalanced. M Chadwick was reprimanded and advised to exercise more care in similar circumstances. Over the concluding stages, SUPER CAGA was unable to be fully tested when awkwardly placed inside the heels of MOCHI. Also over the concluding stages, TELECOM TOP STAR was inclined to lay in under pressure. CHANCELLOR and JOHN DORY were sent for sampling.
