Racing Incident Report

CHAMPION SUPREME and GENEROUS CHARITY were slow to begin.
DYNAMIC EAGLE began only fairly and then lost ground when crowded for room inside DEFINING MOMENT which got its head on the side and shifted in despite the efforts of its rider.
For some distance approaching and passing the 1200 Metres, DYNAMIC EAGLE travelled keenly and got its head up when being checked away from the heels of GOOD OMEN.
Rounding the Home Turn, RED ELYSEES was awkwardly placed close to the heels of GAMEPLAYER TIMES.
DEFINING MOMENT was held up for a run approaching the 300 Metres and was shifted in a number of horses to obtain clear running inside GAMEPLAYER TIMES which at this stage got its head on the side and lay out under pressure. After this, GAMEPLAYER TIMES raced waywardly and shifted ground on a number of occasions.
Passing the 300 Metres, RED ELYSEES and DEFINING MOMENT bumped.
When questioned, A Hamelin stated that he was asked to shift GOOD OMEN across behind runners in the early stages and follow SUPER ELEGANCE which was considered to be a strong chance in the race. He said it was anticipated that SUPER ELEGANCE would be ridden in a position in advance of midfield and that it would then be able to take GOOD OMEN into the race. He said whilst he was able to obtain this position in the early stages, the pace of the race was not quick and this did not suit GOOD OMEN’s ability to close off the race.
After the race, an endoscopic examination was conducted on DYNAMIC EAGLE at the request of Trainer C S Shum. The Veterinary Surgeon reported that this examination showed a substantial amount of blood in the horse's trachea. Before being allowed to race again, DYNAMIC EAGLE will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
A veterinary inspection of ABOVE immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
GOD OF DRAGON and SUPER ELEGANCE were sent for sampling.
<15/6/2020 Additional Veterinary Report>After the race, an endoscopic examination was conducted on SUPER ELEGANCE at the request of Trainer K H Ting.
