4 10 C P BRAVE (E306) When questioned regarding the horse being ridden in a more forward position, M F Poon stated that with the horse stepping up in distance and from an inside barrier, he was instructed by connections to take up a more forward position today. He said as a result as the start was effected, he rode his mount along in the early stages to comply with his instructions. Assistant Trainer H F Yiu confirmed the instructions issued.
5 11 INTREPID WINNER (G144) Hampered on jumping. After the race, K De Melo reported that his mount lay in in the Home Straight.
6 13 NICHOLSON RETURNS (E452) From a wide barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages.
7 4 TURIN MASCOT (H165) Bumped on the hindquarters shortly after the start.
8 9 BILLIONAIRE SECRET (G303) For a short distance near the 400 Metres was held up for clear running. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. Sent for sampling post-race.
9 12 FRANTANCK (H429) When questioned, M L Yeung confirmed the instructions were to lead today and as his mount is one-paced, to ensure that he set a genuine tempo. He said as a result he rode his mount forward to lead in the early stages and although he was aware that the pace of the event was faster than standard, he felt FRANTANCK was travelling comfortably through the early and middle stages. He added that, in his opinion, FRANTANCK would be better suited by the Happy Valley circuit. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
10 5 DEVILDOM (H445) Shortly after the start was checked when crowded between INTREPID WINNER which was taken out by C P BRAVE and SWEET ENCOUNTER which raced tight to the inside of TURIN MASCOT. Near the 1900 Metres was steadied when racing tight to the inside of INTREPID WINNER. Over the concluding stages could not be ridden out when crowded between NICHOLSON RETURNS and BILLIONAIRE SECRET. Noted to have sustained an abrasion to the left hind leg and lost its left hind plate after the race.
11 1 NATURAL STORM (C461) From the outside barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages.
12 3 CALIFORNIA VOCE (H258) A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
13 2 SWEET ENCOUNTER (G426) Crowded shortly after the start. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
