8 2 BRAVE STAR (G268) Crowded shortly after the start. After the race, L Hewitson reported that his mount raced "flat” tonight and failed to respond to his riding in the Home Straight. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
9 8 HOSS (H055) Whilst proceeding to the Start, A Atzeni was dislodged from his mount without incident. HOSS was quickly recaptured, examined by the Veterinary Officer and passed suitable to race.
10 3 VIVA CHALEUR (G368) From a wide barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages. After the race, H Bowman stated that in the early stages he had some concern with his mount’s action when it was racing on the wrong lead leg. He said in the Home Straight VIVA CHALEUR balanced up, but failed to finish the race off. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
11 12 SPEED SWORD (H397) Made contact with its barrier on jumping. Making the turn near the 1000 Metres commenced to race ungenerously for a short distance when positioned to the inside of VIVA CHALEUR. After the race, A Badel reported that his mount, which was having its first race start at Happy Valley tonight, raced greenly throughout the event. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
12 11 MEGA BONUS (E184) Shortly after the start was bumped by ARMOUR EAGLE, became unbalanced, shifted in and made contact with BRAVE STAR. After the race, A Hamelin reported that with the strong early pace and his mount being up in grade this evening, it was under pressure to maintain its position outside the leader BEAUTY WAVES and gave ground under pressure in the Home Straight. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
