When questioned, rider stated that as the race appeared to lack genuine pace, he was given the option to ride his mount in a forward position if circumstances permitted. Trainer confirmed the instructions and the reasons as to why he issued such instructions. He added that such instructions were consistent with those that he had issued at previous race starts - Race 762.

The Stewards were satisfied that the horse reared simultaneously as the start was effected and therefore determined that it had not been denied a fair start. After the event, rider stated that the instructions were to hold a forward position. He said after rearing at the start and losing ground, he was obliged to ride his mount along in the early stages which resulted in his mount racing keenly and being unable to run on in the Home Straight. Post-race vet inspection did not show any significant findings. Barrier manners were considered unacceptable and performance as compared to its previous race starts was considered to be disappointing. Has since performed to the satisfaction of the Stewards in a barrier trial and passed an official vet exam - Race 029.

Passing the 400M was steadied and shifted out to continue into clear running. Approaching the 100M, when racing greenly, shifted in slightly and then was steadied.
