Lay in over the final 200M and approaching the winning post became awkwardly positioned close to heels. After the event, rider reported that after jumping awkwardly and then being crowded for room, his mount settled slightly further back than intended. He said, in his opinion, his mount did not run out in 1650M. Post-race vet inspection did not show any significant findings - Race 087.
2 H156  COSMO NAVIGATOR  23/10/2024   126  COSMO NAVIGATOR (H156) over the concluding stages had some difficulty obtaining clear running. After the race was found that horse to have sustained a small cut to the left hind leg - Race 126.
3 H436  COUNTRY DANCER  27/10/2024   129  COUNTRY DANCER (H436) shortly after the start was severely checked when crowded. When questioned, rider stated that after being held up making the Home Turn he then commenced to ride his mount along to improve to the outside of a runner approaching the 150M. He said as he endeavoured to shift to that runner’s outside, that runner shifted out which resulted in his mount being held up and having to be shifted out further to avoid that runner’s heels and making contact with another runner which was taken wider - Race 129.

Having regard to the horse’s previous unacceptable barrier history, has since performed to the satisfaction of the Stewards in a barrier trial. After the event, rider reported that although his mount jumped awkwardly and lost ground, he was able to obtain a midfield position where he had anticipated settling. He said his mount was disadvantaged by the pace of the event being run outside of standard time in the early stages which made it difficult to make up any ground in the Home Straight. Post-race vet inspection did not show any significant findings - Race 085.

After the event, rider confirmed that from a wide barrier and his mount racing first up, he was instructed to ride it conservatively in the early stages. Trainer confirmed the instructions issued - Race 129.
2 J096  SILVER DESTINY  20/10/2024   116  SILVER DESTINY (J096) jumped awkwardly and from a wide barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages. Approaching the 600M got its head up when being steadied - Race 116.
