When questioned regarding his riding in the Home Straight, rider stated that his initial intention was to follow a runner into the event, however, when that runner did not improve, he then elected to shift back to the inside of that runner to continue to follow the 9th placegetter near the 300M. He said after shifting to the inside of the 9th placegetter near the 250M he was then able to place his mount under full pressure, but when improving between two runners, his mount reacted adversely when it was accidentally struck by the whip of the rider of the 6th placegetter. He added after that his mount responded well to his riding but over the concluding stages shied at the winning post and proved difficult to ride out to the finish of the event - Race 150.

7 J337  LUCKY IMPACT  15/09/2024   25  LUCKY IMPACT (J337) after the event, rider reported that his mount did not travel at any stage and he was disappointed with its finishing effort. Trainer stated that the horse had pleased him in a barrier trial on 3 September 2024 and the only explanation he could offer was that the horse may not have run out a strong 1400M. After the race was examined by the vet who said an endoscopic exam showed a substantial amount of blood in the horse's trachea. Performance as compared to its previous start was considered to be disappointing. Has since performed to the satisfaction of the Stewards in a barrier trial and passed an official vet exam - Race 025.
