4 H320  GLORY CLOUD  30/10/2024   144  GLORY CLOUD (H320) when questioned regarding his riding, rider stated that the instructions were to find an on-pace position with cover. He said after his mount commenced well, he settled outside the leader in the early stages, however, his mount raced keenly. He added when the eventual winner improved to his outside, he elected to allow that runner to cross rather than contesting that position as he felt that would be detrimental to the chances of his mount settling in the middle stages of the event. After considering his explanations, the Stewards found the tactics adopted by rider in the circumstances were reasonable - Race 144.

He said when a runner shifted away from the rail near the 500M, his mount commenced to improve into the event and then was awkwardly placed close to that runner, resulting in him having to steady his mount. He said after that his mount did not respond to his riding and raced in a disappointing manner. Post-race vet inspection did not show any significant findings. Performance as compared to its previous race starts was considered disappointing. Has since performed to the satisfaction of the Stewards in a barrier trial and passed an official vet exam - Race 133.
