He said after sharing the lead in the early stages, from the 600M he endeavoured to encourage his mount to change its lead leg as it was laying in. He added when his mount failed to change its lead leg, it continued to lay in which resulted in it shifting in and away from the stand rail and allowing a runner to improve to its outside. Having considered his evidence, the Stewards accepted the explanation provided by rider - Race 186.
