After the event, rider stated that after losing ground at the start his mount settled further back than anticipated and failed to respond to his riding in the Home Straight. Post-race vet inspection did not show any significant findings - Race 138.

10 J316  BOTTOMUPTOGETHER  09/11/2024   172  BOTTOMUPTOGETHER (J316) after the race was examined by the vet who said a endoscopic exam showed a substantial amount of blood in the horse's trachea. Has since passed an official vet exam - Race 172.

When questioned, rider stated that when his mount commenced to lay out approaching the 150M, he pulled the whip through from his right to his left hand. He said as he did so he dropped his left rein for a short distance. He added over the concluding stages when being ridden out the horse then lay in towards the running rail which required him to correct his mount and stop riding with the whip near the 50M before he was able to recommence fully testing his mount to the finish. Rider was advised that as this was the third occasion he was noted to have dropped his rein, he should, wherever possible, ensure that he maintains control of his reins - Race 200.
