After the event, rider stated that after settling back in the field his mount did not finish the race off in the Home Straight and raced in a disappointing manner. After the race was examined by the vet who said an endoscopic exam showed a substantial amount of blood in the horse's trachea. Trainer stated that the horse was disadvantaged by losing ground at the start but he attributed its performance to the horse having to make up too much ground in the Home Straight and that it was reported to have a substantial amount of blood in its trachea. Performance was considered disappointing as compared to its previous race starts. Has since performed to the satisfaction of the Stewards in a barrier trial and passed an official vet exam - Race 242.

He said his mount jumped awkwardly and despite riding it along in the early stages did not show sufficient pace to hold a more forward position. He added his mount did not appreciate racing on the "Wet Slow” track conditions - Race 425.
