When questioned regarding his riding in the Home Straight, rider stated that after following the eventual winner during the event he endeavoured to improve to that runner’s outside to obtain clear running between that runner and the 4th placegetter. He said as he commenced to do so, his mount lay in and away from the 4th placegetter when that runner shifted in slightly and as a result he was disappointed for clear running near the 350M between those two runners. He added as a result his mount then lost momentum and did not obtain clear running until near the 150M when it shifted to the outside of the 4th placegetter and finished the race off well - Race 416.
