After the event rider stated that the intention was to hold a more forward position but after being checked at the start his mount settled further back. He added that in the middle stages his mount raced keenly and therefore near the 800M he shifted his mount to the outside of a runner to start a forward move. He said as a result his mount then raced wide and without cover thereafter before giving ground in the Home Straight. Following the race found that horse to be a "roarer” - Race 601.
