After the event rider reported that his mount, which was dropping back in distance to 1000M, did not travel well during the race and did not finish the race off in the Home Straight. 9 K305  BULL ATTITUDE  14/06/2025   760  BULL ATTITUDE (K305) bumped at the start. When questioned rider stated that the instructions were from the outside barrier to take up a forward position. He said after commencing well he observed a number of runners to his inside show intent to go forward and when he was of the opinion his mount would not have enough pace to cross runners to his inside, he elected to come back to obtain a position with cover behind the leaders. He said as he did so a runner also commenced to come back in an attempt to also find cover and as a result he had to steady his mount further to avoid racing wide which resulted in his mount racing further back than he had intended. When questioned regarding his riding in the Home Straight and as to whether there was an opportunity to shift to the outside of the 6th placegetter near the 300M rider stated that that was his initial intention but as he was of the view he was not clear of the aforementioned runner to shift out he remained racing behind the 12th placegetter for some distance. He said when the 12th placegetter was then taken wider he then elected to shift to the inside of the 12th placegetter to follow the 9th placegetter, but over the final 100M he could not fully test his mount when the 9th placegetter did not improve into the race as he had expected. After considering his explanation the Stewards found the tactics adopted by rider were reasonable in the circumstances. Trainer confirmed the instructions issued. Post-race vet inspection did not show any significant findings - Race 760.

After the event rider stated that his mount was caught wide in the early stages and as a result he was obliged to make some use of his mount near the 1000M to go forward to cross a runner. He said his mount came under pressure from the 600M and then gave ground in the Home Straight. Post-race vet inspection did not show any significant findings. Performance compared to its previous race start was considered to be disappointing. Has since performed to the satisfaction of the Stewards in a barrier trial and passed an official vet exam - Race 712.
