He added that, in his opinion, his mount was not suited by being ridden in that manner. Post-race vet inspection did not show any significant findings - Race 015.

4 G307  PRINCE ALEX  10/09/2025   14  PRINCE ALEX (G307) when questioned rider stated that he was given no specific instructions where to settle and although his mount commenced well it did not respond to his efforts to hold a more forward position, which resulted in his mount settling at the rear of the field. When questioned regarding his riding making the Home Turn and if there was an opportunity to improve to the outside of the 4th placegetter, rider stated that although he was aware there was an opportunity to shift to that runner’s outside he was reluctant to do so as his mount was not travelling well enough to make a run around the field. He said as a consequence he elected to improve to the inside of that runner with a view to following the eventual winner. He said when a runner shifted away from the rail he was unable to continue to improve into that run which resulted in his mount having some difficulty obtaining clear running in the early stages of the Home Straight. He added that he was able to shift to the outside of the 4th placegetter near the 200M where his mount finished the race off reasonably well - Race 014.
