3 7 DON FELIPE (CD273) D Whyte -- Okay into stride, lacked early speed and drifted back to be midfield 2 wide 5Ls off pace, enjoyed good run in middle section, tracked nicely 3 wide 3Ls off them straightening, showed good fight to keep coming for 3rd. (Blood in trachea)
4 8 FASHION JEWELLERY (CD177) G Mosse -- Fair to jump, mustered speed to hold spot 1 out 1 back, raced 3Ls off them spending little in mid-section, eased 3 wide on turn and made strong challenge at 300 M. Ran out of puff last bit but did well to make frame. (Blood in trachea)
5 4 EQUATOR KID (CC134) G Schofield -- Average to begin, lacked early speed, settled worse than midfield on the rails 6Ls from front runners, spent nothing in middle stages, made run between horses in straight and closed race off strongly doing best work late.
6 13 MASTERY (CC176) H K Yim TT Lacked early speed, drifted back to near rear, raced on rails 8-9Ls from leaders, angled 3 wide on turn, came between horses in straight and made up good ground to be closest at finish.
7 3 SELF FLIT (CB322) D Dunn B Fast into stride, pressed on to take up running after 200 M, pressured early but controlled tempo nicely in mid-section, held 1L advantage into straight. Kept giving until 250 M but offered little under pressure. (Mucopus.)
8 5 MASTER GIGOLO (CC375) E Saint-Martin TT Fair to begin, restrained from wide alley to settle 3rd from rear 2 wide 9Ls off front runners, still well back on bend, made wide run entering stretch and finished off well giving too great a start. (Pharyngeal collapse.)
9 2 STABLE MAIL (CE184) S Dye -- Began with rest, taken back from widest gate to settle 2nd last 10Ls off them, lobbed along at tail throughout on rails, followed paint in straight and closed race off well between runners only getting warm late.
10 6 PACKING ANGEL (CB223) B Prebble -- Fast to break, unable to go early speed and drifted back to race midfield with cover 5Ls away, pressed on 4 wide to be 2Ls away on straightening, loomed up but one-paced in straight and weakened late.
11 12 SMACKO (CG132) Y T Cheng -- Began well, showed good early speed to race outside leader, raced keenly early but enjoyed good trip with even clip in mid-section, under hard riding entering straight and weakened out after the early effort.
12 10 GRAND CENTRAL (CG160) O Doleuze SR1 Broke early fairly, pushed along to hold spot 3 back on rails 3-4Ls from lead, enjoyed soft run to turn, held up making run between horses at 200 M. Kept on fairly thereafter. Reasonable debut.
13 1 JOYFUL SPIRIT (CB032) C K Tong -- Crowded early, mustered speed soon after the go forward and settle amongst leading division, caught 3 wide without cover 1L away for most of journey, under pressure entering straight and weakened right out after wide run.
14 11 LOYAL KNIGHT (CG053) C W Wong -- Jumped in air and lost considerable ground, unbalanced rider, always well off them early, finally tacked on at turn, lost touch to be well beaten in straight. (Lame morning after.)
