1 REALLY HAPPY (CJ165) K C Leung TT Tracked leader and travelled kindly for most of the way, lengthened really well on straightening and rallied back inside 150 M to edge out the eventual runner-up. (Jockey dropped whip 200 M.)
9 FLUKE (CJ061) H W Lai -- Well enough away, held a 2-wide position in midfield 4Ls back, pressed on inside 450 M and burst to the front 200 M out, unable to get away from the winner though and was eventually reeled in 50 M from home.
10 REAL SPECIAL (CH320) M Du Plessis XB Drifted back after the start and was given a waiting ride in a position behind midfield, edged out to commence his run passing 400 M, ran on well down the outside but couldn't get to the first two.
11 PRINCE KALAMOUN (CK178) J Winks CP Urged along to hold a position behind midfield on the fence, 4Ls down passing 400 M and had a clear run down the inside, lacked an instant acceleration but stayed on okay to claim 4th.
8 LU YUE (CH278) Y T Cheng B/H Unable to shift in before the first turn due to the wide draw, crossed to lead on the rail passing 1300 M and an uncontested lead to straight, headed inside 300 M and tired into 5th.
6 TOP HONOR (CE183) D Beadman B1 Began well but was eased back for cover before the first turn, hampered near 1300 M and was shuffled back, 6Ls off the pace and had a daunting task turning in, plugged on inside 300 M but never looked like figuring.
12 SLEEP WELL (CK036) W M Lai -- Held up last 8Ls behind leader and waited with until 350 M, stayed on only fairly, never dangerous.
7 BERIO (CJ202) B Prebble XB Tracked leaders in early stages but eased back to midfield entering the back straight, ridden inside 500 M to hold a position and struggled to go with them as the race heated up in straight. (Jockey questioned.)
3 CONGRATS (CG298) D Whyte TT Lost ground at the start and was soon taken to a rear spot on the rail, had more than 5Ls to make up inside 400 M but didn't pick up from off the pace, eased close home. (Jockey reported it didn't handle the track conditions.)
2 DISGUISE (CG004) P H Lo B Prominent early but unable to shift in and trapped 3 deep throughout, under pressure making the home turn and never able to pick up in straight.
4 TOM'S SIX (CG264) W C Marwing CP1 3-wide in midfield 5Ls back, came widest turning for home and had nothing to offer inside 300 M. Disappointing.
5 DORDENMA (CE333) Z Purton -- Slow into stride but soon recovered to race prominently behind leaders, under pressure on the turn and was eased down early on straightening.
