Pla. | Horse No |
Colour | Horse | Jockey | Incident |
6 | 1 | ROMAN CROWN (J456) | J McDonald | Approaching the 400 Metres made contact with BLUE BARON on a number of occasions when improving to the outside of SKY PROPHET.
3 | 2 | NEW FUTURE FOLKS (J418) | B Thompson | B Thompson was found guilty of a careless riding charge for causing interference after the 1100 Metres (see SKY PROPHET). Leaving the 100 Metres shifted in and away from HONG LOK GOLF, resulting in its rider B Thompson having to stop riding and straighten his mount. When questioned regarding his riding, B Thompson stated that after being crossed by BINGO BABE in the early stages, that runner steadied the pace once it obtained the lead which resulted in NEW FUTURE FOLKS commencing to race keenly. He said as a result he shifted out to follow PACKING ANGEL near the 700 Metres, however, NEW FUTURE FOLKS continued to race keenly and would not settle. He added as a result near the 600 Metres he was obliged to shift to the outside of PACKING ANGEL to avoid that runner’s heels which resulted in NEW FUTURE FOLKS racing wide and without cover thereafter.
7 | 3 | PACKING ANGEL (J454) | Z Purton | Sent for sampling post-race.
8 | 4 | ANOTHER WORLD (K005) | L Hewitson | No report.
12 | 5 | BINGO BABE (K115) | K Teetan | After the event, K Teetan reported that his mount, which was having its first race start in Hong Kong, was ridden along in the early stages to hold the lead from the outside barrier and as a result was left without a finishing effort in the Home Straight. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
4 | 6 | BLUE BARON (J448) | K C Leung | Approaching the 800 Metres BLUE BARON, which was racing greenly, was checked when crowded between SKY PROPHET (A Badel) which shifted in slightly and SIKANDAR which lay out on the turn. Whilst the Stewards found that the racing manners of SIKANDAR and BLUE BARON were the principal reasons for the incident, A Badel was advised to exercise more care. Approaching the 400 Metres was bumped on a number of occasions and taken wider.
1 | 7 | HONG LOK GOLF (J517) | H Bentley | Jumped only fairly. Sent for sampling post-race.
10 | 8 | MAX QUE (J514) | L Ferraris | Approaching the 500 Metres was eased when taken wider by NEW FUTURE FOLKS which shifted to the outside of PACKING ANGEL. 9 | 12 | SKY PROPHET (J095) | A Badel | B Thompson (NEW FUTURE FOLKS) was found guilty of a charge of careless riding [Rule 100(1)] in that after the 1100 Metres he allowed his mount to shift in when not clear of SKY PROPHET, resulting in SKY PROPHET being checked away from NEW FUTURE FOLKS. B Thompson was suspended from riding in races for a period to commence on Wednesday, 4 December 2024 and to expire on Monday, 9 December 2024 on which day he may resume race riding (2 Hong Kong racedays). In assessing penalty, the Stewards determined the carelessness grade 2 and the consequences grade 2 and also considered his good race riding record. Approaching the 500 Metres was steadied to avoid ANOTHER WORLD (L Hewitson) when that runner shifted to the outside of HONG LOK GOLF to obtain clear running. L Hewitson was advised to exercise more care. |

4 | 7 | DRAGON AIR FORCE (J279) | Z Purton | In the early stages raced keenly and near the 800 Metres got its head up when being steadied away from ROBOT KNIGHT. When questioned regarding his riding in the Home Straight, Z Purton stated that near the 200 Metres he attempted to shift to the outside of ROBOT KNIGHT to secure clear running, however, his mount did not respond to his efforts and was reluctant to shift out. He said as a result he then elected to shift in to obtain clear running between ROBOT KNIGHT and GOLDEN LONG, however, when those runners shifted ground, DRAGON AIR FORCE was then held up for clear running until passing the 50 Metres where it shifted to the outside of GOLDEN LONG. After considering his explanation, the Stewards found the tactics adopted by Jockey Purton were reasonable in the circumstances.
12 | 8 | JOLLY COMPANION (H454) | C Y Ho | When questioned, C Y Ho stated that his instructions were to hold an on-pace position. He said JOLLY COMPANION jumped only fairly from the outside barrier and did not show sufficient pace in the early stages to go forward. NAMJONG KINGDOM then lay in over the final 100 Metres and proved difficult to ride out.
1 | 9 | SKY TRUST (J161) | L Hewitson | Sent for sampling post-race.
3 | 10 | GOLDEN ARTIE (G434) | K Teetan | When questioned regarding his riding out over the concluding stages, K Teetan stated that after shifting his mount to the outside of SKY TRUST near the 100 Metres, he then attempted to pull his whip through to his right hand. He said as he commenced to do so he dropped his left rein for a short distance before regaining it and being able to continue to ride his mount out fully to the finish of the event. K Teetan was advised that he should, wherever possible, ensure that he maintains proper control of his reins.
8 | 11 | STELLAR SWIFT (J139) | A Atzeni | Shortly after the start was checked when crowded between FALLON and PRESTIGE ALWAYS which jumped awkwardly and shifted out. Near the 200 Metres was eased to avoid FALLON when that runner shifted in to obtain clear running. After the event, A Atzeni reported that the intention was to be more forward but settled further back after being checked at the start.
2 | 12 | AMAZING VICTORY (G123) | C Y Ho | When questioned, C Y Ho stated that he was instructed to take up a more forward position than its last start as connections were of the opinion that it was advantageous today to race in an on-pace position. Trainer W Y So confirmed the instructions issued. Sent for sampling post-race.
10 | 13 | ARMOUR WAR EAGLE (J039) | A Badel | When questioned, A Badel stated that the instructions were to endeavour to ride his mount in a conservative manner in the early stages with cover. He said after travelling a short distance he attempted to restrain his mount to comply with his instructions, however, ARMOUR WAR EAGLE raced keenly and as a result he was unable to obtain cover. He said when ARMOUR WAR EAGLE continued to race keenly in the early stages he allowed it to stride forward to take up a position outside SKY TRUST, however, his mount was obliged to race wide and without cover for the majority of the event. He added having regard to the manner in which ARMOUR WAR EAGLE raced in the early stages and the fact that it was obliged to race wide and without cover, it was left without a finishing effort in the Home Straight. He further added that, in his opinion, ARMOUR WAR EAGLE would be better suited by being dropped back in distance for its next race start where it would be able to settle on a more genuine pace. Sent for sampling post-race.
13 | 14 | DILBAGH (K055) | M Chadwick | Raced very wide and without cover for the majority of the event.
GOOD LUCK BABE (K016) | B Thompson | Withdrawn on 23.11.24 by order of the Stewards acting on veterinary advice (blood abnormality) and replaced by Standby Declared Starter DILBAGH. Before being allowed to race again, GOOD LUCK BABE will be subjected to an official veterinary examination. |

He added over the concluding stages when being ridden out WONDER KIT then lay in towards the running rail which required him to correct his mount and stop riding with the whip near the 50 Metres before he was able to recommence fully testing his mount to the finish. L Hewitson was advised that as this was the third occasion he was noted to have dropped his rein, he should, wherever possible, ensure that he maintains control of his reins.
