Background:
Archie Watson has spent his whole life around thoroughbreds. He grew up near Lambourn. He used to work in various racing sectors in New Zealand, South Africa and the United States before returning to the United Kingdom in 2012 when he was offered the opportunity to become assistant to William Haggas. After four years in Newmarket, he took out a licence to train in Upper Lambourn. His greatest success as a trainer came on British Champions Day in 2020 when Glen Shiel provided him with Group 1 success in the Champions Sprint Stakes. He recently won the King’s Stand Stakes at Royal Ascot with Bradsell in 2023.
