Private Banking Handicap Stakes S1 - 1, 01/06/2019, Saturday Post Time 21:00

1

Nayef Road

Surged clear of his four rivals to win a Newmarket handicap over this trip on his 2019 return, a fine effort as he was giving a lot of weight away. Then tried in hot G2 company at York and, though outpaced late, was not disgraced. A soaring handicap mark may not prevent a big show.

2

Creationist

All four starts so far have been on all-weather surfaces, including two 1600m wins. Upgraded to Listed company for his return last start, and he ran a very encouraging fifth in that strong event. His pedigree gives plenty of hope for his turf campaign.

3

Victory Command

Four times a winner at two, including at Listed level at Ascot. However his handicap rating has dropped fast after some generally disappointing shows this year. He did show much more zip when third at Haydock last time, however. Up in distance.

4

The Trader

Gained two wins over shorter distances last season but his two runs over this distance in 2019 suggest he is a better, stronger colt. Coming from the back at Newbury last time, his effort petered out late on but he wasn't beaten far in that strong handicap.

5

Red Hot

A winner on her second start - last December - she made her 2019 and turf debuts in a Listed event over further than this and on slow ground - at Chester in May. Although 8.5L behind the winner it was still quite an encouraging performance. Handicap debut here.

6

Alkaamel

His three wins came on all-weather surfaces but he looks smart on grass also judged by his latest two runs, notably with a career best when second at Newmarket last time after looking the likely winner. Up in distance but that should be OK.

7

Le Don De Vie

Gelded prior to the start of this season, and he certainly seemed sharper - leading from gate to wire and fending off a well-regarded rival in that novices' event here. Tackling a longer trip for this handicap debut, and that could easily bring further progress.

8

Politicise

Hasn't managed to justify favouritism in either start this season, but hasn't been beaten far in either of those 1600m handicaps. Will need to improve a bit more to win this, and is moving up in trip here though not certain from his pedigree that will help.

9

Kheros

Originally a cheap purchase who has quite a confusing pedigree. However he immediately showed some ability when winning at Kempton on his career debut last October. Has run quite well in both subsequent starts. Tries turf and handicapping today.
