Prince of Wales's Stakes S2 - 4, 21/06/2023, Wednesday Post Time 23:20

1

Adayar

A fantastic spell in 2021 saw him win two of Britain’s most prestigious races including the Epsom Derby. Missed much of last season but his convincing winning return at Newmarket suggest he is still formidable.

2

Bay Bridge

The modest pace in this last year didn’t help, but still a good second, doing better still over this course and distance with a G1 win last October. Two solid G1 efforts this season. Slow ground ideal.

3

Classic Causeway

Led almost throughout to win a G1 over this trip at Belmont Park last July. But not so sharp since, and this US raider is likely to struggle against top European middle-distance rivals.

4

Luxembourg

Has won six of his nine starts, including three G1’s. His power-paced front-running display at The Curragh in May indicated that he is at least as good as ever. Encountering Ascot for the first time.

5

Mostahdaf

Versatile trip and groundwise. An eight-times winner but yet to come close to winning a G1 which may compromise his chance in this red-hot field. Has a good record after a break, this being his first run since March.

6

My Prospero

This course and distance saw his career-best performance when only narrowly failing to land a surprise win in one of the strongest G1’s of the year, last October. An encouraging start to 2023 at Newbury.
