Hasn’t made a big impact in four starts this year. Would have a chance if showing the same flair as when winning a Listed sprint at Deauville last July.

Billy Webster

Winner of three of his six starts. However, he has sometimes been slow from the gates which can be especially costly over Epsom’s downhill 1000m charge.

Tears Of A Clown

A front-running winner on soft ground at Windsor last year later looking smart when a close third in a Listed sprint at Newbury. Must do better than on two more recent starts.

Sturlasson

Although only in maiden company this Irish challenger posted a clear career best when an easy front-running winner at Navan in May. His gate speed could prove useful here.

Ziggy’s Missile

Has won three of his eight starts though is 0-4 on a turf surface. Didn’t help his rider by hanging left at York last time.

Blue Storm

Won two of his seven starts as a 2yo and looked as though he had matured into a fast 3yo when a close fourth – after an imperfect passage – at Chester in May.

Due For Luck

Looked quick when winning his first two career starts. His return after a 190-day break was also encouraging, slow from the gate but finishing fast in a Chester handicap.

Mashadi

Yet to win but second on seven of his nine starts including when only just beaten at Ascot in May. All starts in 2024 over 1200 or 1400m but effective at 1000m also.

Curious Rover

Twice a winner and placed on all other starts during a good 2yo career. Then gelded but both outings this year have been very modest displays.

Rogue Enforcer

A progressive young sprinter in 2023, especially good on a slow surface. May need that type of surface again after making a disappointing 2024 return on good ground.

Vince L’Amour

Faded fast at York in May, perhaps that coming too soon after a much better display when only just failing to win a Chester sprint. His two wins have come on slow ground.

The Coffee Pod

One decent run this season – when well supported in the betting – over this trip at Windsor, finishing third of seven. May need to slip further down the weights.

Tan Rapido

A red-hot favourite to make a winning 2024 return at Wolverhampton, but raced too freely and got caught. Then ran poorly at Sandown after playing up at the gate.

Mart

Has been in great shape and supplemented a 1200m victory at Newmarket in mid-May with another at Lingfield on 28 May despite a tricky gate.

Mc Loven

Trained at Epsom but having his first start here. Showed plenty of early speed at Goodwood in May, but the soft ground didn’t look to help. That was still a good effort.

Grandlad

Looks a serious contender having won his last two starts and leading nearly all the way at Goodwood a week before this challenge.  All speed, this fast track should suit.

Knicks

Both starts this season have been good, especially his front-running victory around Chester’s tight bends in May. Still looks attractively handicapped.

Doctor Vuby

Yet to win but has shown enough dash in two 2024 starts to suggest a first victory is not far off. However, he now needs to prove himself on a grass surface.

Enchanting

Her only win from four starts has come on very slow ground, and those conditions may suit best.  Eased 2lb after failing to make much impact at York in May.

Split The Profit

Partnered for the first time by veteran jockey John Egan, he is yet to win a race though he did well to finish second at Lingfield last time considering a troubled passage.
