2400m - Turf
1 |
Safecracker |
Winner of this last year, off a 4lb lower mark - responding well to jockey pressure that day. Not at his best at Royal Ascot last time. |
2 |
Star Harbour |
Has had a busy career, winning four of his 42 starts, those victories coming on a good or slow surface and one of them at this trip. Not beaten far here on his last two starts. |
3 |
Dame Rapide |
An outsider when a solid fourth of eleven in this last year and can run off a 4lb easier handicap mark this time. Needs to improve from a fairly modest show last time. |
4 |
Saturn |
Three strong efforts this year, latterly when proving his stamina and responding to jockey pressure to win a 2800m handicap here in early June. Fast ground would be ideal. |
5 |
Zoffman |
Delivered a powerful late surge when a close second in this last year. Got even closer to victory in a Cork handicap last time this month. Handles any ground, but slow may be best. |
6 |
Mt Leinster |
Recent starts have not been encouraging with some comprehensive defeats. It might take more than a sinking handicap mark for him to return to winning form. |
7 |
War Correspondent |
Yet to win on the Flat on a turf surface which is not very encouraging for this. He has at least won over this trip, at Dundalk. |
8 |
Lot Of Joy |
Mostly well beaten last year, though the fact that she remains in training with this brilliant stable is interesting. |
9 |
Ceallach |
Won two all-weather handicaps at Dundalk over this trip late last year. So far he hasn’t hit those heights in two starts this season. |
10 |
Intellotto |
Has shown some high class form in hurdling events and he also outclassed his rivals in a Flat maiden last time. He looks a likely type to do well in this hot 2400m handicap. |
11 |
Pinot Gris |
Has been competing quite successfully over hurdles including a win last time. Last July he won a soft ground handicap at Leopardstown. Has a more demanding rating now. |
12 |
Carlo Bianconi |
Quickened to win a Sligo handicap in May but disqualified for a weight infringement of his jockey. A beaten favourite on all five starts now including when a close third at Cork this month. But a win looks close. |
