Racing Incident Report

CLASSABOVE, which was fractious its stall, was slow to begin. HAPPY GO LAGO was slow to begin. Shortly after the start, WISE LOVER was steadied when crowded for room between WINNING SUNSHINE and VICTORY START. WISE LOVER was then taken across behind runners. Passing the 900 Metres, SUPER SNIPPETS, which was racing fiercely, got its head up when being steadied away from the heels of KINGS CROSS which shifted in when barely clear. For some distance after this, SUPER SNIPPETS continued to over-race and was steadied away from the heels of KINGS CROSS. Near the 300 Metres, SAVUTE was checked to avoid the heels of ENCHANTED (A Delpech) which after initially being taken out slightly by RELY ON ME then shifted out further. A Delpech was reprimanded and advised to ensure he makes every effort to protect his fellow riders in future. S Dye (HAPPY GO LAGO) reported his mount was not comfortable in today's track conditions and near the 250 Metres made an abnormal breathing noise. HAPPY GO LAGO was sent for an official veterinary inspection. After the race, HAPPY GO LAGO was examined by the Veterinary Officer. He said an endoscopic examination showed a substantial amount of mucopus in the horse's trachea. Before being allowed to race again, HAPPY GO LAGO will be subjected to an official veterinary examination. RELY ON ME, ENCHANTED and TERRAFERMA were sent for sampling.
