Racing Incident Report
Whilst being saddled, GOOD LAD reared. After being saddled, when the horse was being trotted up by the Veterinary Surgeon, it kicked out and made contact with a rail, sustained a laceration to its left hind leg. In the opinion of the Veterinary Surgeon, it was not suitable to race. Accordingly GOOD LAD was withdrawn by order of the Stewards. FORTUNE LIFE left the gates very awkwardly and was further inconvenienced by HOKKIEN ALL which on jumping shifted out. At the start, GRAND FIGHTER and SONGS OF THE SUN came together. HAPPY YEARS missed the start. Over the concluding stages, NORTHERN MAGNATE hung out. On pulling up, M Cahill (VICTORY MASTER) expressed concern with the action of the horse. VICTORY MASTER was sent for a clinical veterinary examination. After the race, VICTORY MASTER was examined by the Veterinary Officer. No abnormalities were detected. SONGS OF THE SUN, NORTHERN MAGNATE, BRILLIANT EXPRESS and EVER MORE were sent for sampling.
