Racing Incident Report

After arriving at the Start, TRIUMPHANT UNICORN was examined by the Veterinary Surgeon. He said the horse was lame in the left hind leg. Acting on this advice, the Stewards ordered the withdrawal of the horse. Before being allowed to race again, TRIUMPHANT UNICORN will be subjected to an official veterinary examination. MOVE IT and NOBLE CHAMPION were slow to begin. Near the 1100 Metres, DANHERO, which had been ridden along to maintain its position to the inside of KROVANH (Apprentice P H Lo), was steadied to avoid that horse's heels when it shifted to the fence when barely clear. Apprentice Lo was reprimanded and told to exercise more care. At the 1100 Metres, FIFTY FIFTY, which was proving difficult to settle, was steadied when awkwardly placed inside the heels of GREAT LEADER. Making the turn at the 800 Metres, WINNING DRAGON was checked when crowded for room inside FIFTY FIFTY which shifted in when proving difficult to settle and was awkwardly placed close to the heels of GREAT LEADER. In the circumstances, no action was taken. At the 400 Metres, SAINT THOMAS attempted to improve between FIFTY FIFTY and GOODY. SAINT THOMAS was initially disappointed for this run. EXPECTATIONS, which was following SAINT THOMAS, was steadied and shifted out away from the heels of that horse. Near the 300 Metres, MOVE IT, which had been held up for clear running, was steadied and shifted to the outside of NOBLE HERO to go forward. Over the concluding stages, MOVE IT hung in. FIFTY FIFTY and MY CHOICE were sent for sampling.
