Racing Incident Report

B Doyle (BODACIOUS) was fined $4,000 for initially weighing out without a body protector [Rule 94(3)]. On jumping, BODACIOUS got its head up. Also on jumping, METRO FLYER stumbled. GLORIOUS RHYTHM began awkwardly, bumped the outside gate of its stall, then shortly afterwards was bumped by MY EGO which shifted in. MULTI MILLIONS was a little slow to begin and shortly afterwards was checked when crowded for room between HANDBAG PREMIER and GLOBE RIVER which shifted out. Shortly after the start, MAGNIFICENT became unbalanced when crowded for room between HANDBAG PREMIER and LIVERBIRD. In the early stages, MASTER ABLE and JOYFUL WORLD proved difficult to settle. At the 1000 Metres, METRO FLYER was steadied away from the heels of YELLOW DIAMOND. After the 1000 Metres, LIVERBIRD was steadied when awkwardly placed inside the heels of GOOD TO GREAT which shifted in when barely clear. Near the 800 Metres, GLOBE RIVER shifted out and was steadied away from the heels of HANDBAG PREMIER. Making the turn at the 800 Metres, MULTI MILLIONS was crowded for room inside MAGNIFICENT which at this time got its head on the side and hung in. Prior to straightening, MASTER ABLE was bumped by HANDBAG PREMIER which was shifting out to find clear running. Shortly after the 400 Metres, MULTI MILLIONS was steadied away from the heels of HANDBAG PREMIER when held up for running behind that horse. Near the 300 Metres, GLOBE RIVER was steadied when held up for running between LIVERBIRD and YELLOW DIAMOND which was giving ground. Near the 200 Metres, BODACIOUS got its head up when being steadied after being crowded for room between MASTER ABLE and GLORIOUS RHYTHM, both of which shifted ground. After the 200 Metres, MY EGO was awkwardly placed close to the heels of METRO FLYER which was giving ground. Then after this, MY EGO hung in. Near the 100 Metres, GLOBE RIVER was checked to avoid the heels of YELLOW DIAMOND which was continuing to give ground. HANDBAG PREMIER and JOYFUL WORLD were sent for sampling. An inquiry into the running and riding of EASTKOWLOON SPIRIT (G Schofield) was adjourned to a date to be fixed.
