Racing Incident Report

NORTHERN GOLD BALL was withdrawn on 18.3.05 by order of the Stewards acting on veterinary advice (lame right hind) and was replaced by Standby Declared Starter SPEEDING MOLLY (G Schofield). Before being allowed to race again, NORTHERN GOLD BALL will be subjected to an official veterinary examination. On jumping, DIAMOND ERA got its head up, lost ground, then shortly afterwards dipped when crowded for room between BRILLIANT FLASH and LUCKY KING, both of which shifted ground. HONEY MONEY began awkwardly. From the outside barrier, PERFECT MISSION was immediately steadied and taken back, however, proved difficult to settle and raced wide and without cover. After the 1400 Metres, CHINSOLA, which had its head on the side, was bumped by BRILLIANT FLASH which shifted in. Near the 900 Metres, DASHING THUNDER, which was awkwardly placed close to the heels of SUNBELL, shifted out and bumped ROYAL FALCON. Making the turn at the 800 Metres, BOUNTIFUL shifted in and was steadied away from the heels of BRILLIANT FLASH. At the 700 Metres, ROYAL FALCON was carried wider after being bumped by SUNBELL which at this time was carried out by CHINSOLA (L Innes) which shifted away from the fence to race outside HONEY MONEY. L Innes was told whilst the Stewards appreciate competitive riding, there is a limit to how far one is permitted to go. In the early part of the Straight, SPEEDING MOLLY was held up and unable to improve between SILVER SUN and ALWAYS ZIETEN which was giving ground. Inside the final 200 Metres, SILVER SUN raced tight inside HONEY MONEY. SPEEDING MOLLY and HONEY MONEY were sent for sampling.
