Racing Incident Report
On jumping, LIBERAL'S KNIGHT and SUNNY SING were crowded for room between CRYSTAL which shifted out after being bumped by REGENCY HORSE and INDUSTRIAL SUCCESS which shifted in after being bumped by FASHION JEWELLERY. BEST LUCK, which was standing badly, bumped the inside gate of its stall and lost ground. LIBERAL'S KNIGHT made the turn at the 800 Metres awkwardly. ACHIEVER hung out making the Home Turn. F Coetzee (REGENCY HORSE) pleaded guilty to two counts of careless riding [Rule 100(1)]. The particulars of the first count were that near the 300 Metres he failed to take sufficient measures to prevent his mount which was hanging out from shifting ground, thereby causing crowding on its outside to ACHIEVER which as a result lost its running and was checked. For this breach, F Coetzee was suspended from riding in races for a period to expire on Monday 2 January 2006 on which day he may resume race riding (2 Hong Kong racedays). The commencement of the suspension was deferred until after the Happy Valley racemeeting next Wednesday 21 December 2005. In addition, F Coetzee was fined $20,000 in lieu of a suspension for a period incorporating one further raceday. The particulars of the second count were that near the 200 Metres he failed to take sufficient measures to prevent his mount which was hanging out from shifting ground, thereby causing crowding on its outside to FASHION JEWELLERY which as a result lost its running and was checked. For this breach, F Coetzee was suspended from riding in races for a period to expire on Monday 2 January 2006 on which day he may resume race riding (2 Hong Kong racedays). The two periods of suspension from riding in races imposed upon F Coetzee are to be served concurrently. In arriving at what they believed to be the appropriate penalty, the Stewards took into account the manner in which REGENCY HORSE was racing. When ACHIEVER checked at the 300 Metres, INDUSTRIAL SUCCESS which was following was checked severely to avoid the heels of that horse and when FASHION JEWELLERY checked at the 200 Metres, INDUSTRIAL SUCCESS which was following was steadied and shifted in to avoid the heels of that horse. At the 200 Metres, LIBERAL'S KNIGHT became unbalanced when bumped by SUNNY SING which shifted to the outside of BOBO WIN to obtain clear running. FASHION JEWELLERY was sent for an official veterinary inspection. A veterinary inspection of FASHION JEWELLERY after the race did not show any significant findings. REGENCY HORSE, SUNNY SING and CRYSTAL were sent for sampling. After the race, it was reported ABLE STANDARD was making an abnormal breathing noise.
