Racing Incident Report
DEMINER was withdrawn on 1.7.06 by order of the Stewards acting on veterinary advice (swollen left front cannon) and was replaced by Standby Declared Starter GOLDEN WIN (D Whyte). Before being allowed to race again, DEMINER will be subjected to an official veterinary examination. KAISER'S CHOIX was a little slow to begin, then shortly afterwards was checked when crowded for room between KOWLOON TREASURE and GOLDEN WIN which shifted in. SUNNY POWER began awkwardly, shifted out, bumped the hindquarters of HARVEY MUDD and lost ground. On jumping, GOOD TO GREAT and WISDOM EXPRESS bumped. TATTENHALL DELIGHT began awkwardly and lost ground. After the 900 Metres, KOWLOON TREASURE was checked when crowded for room inside TOP TOP LIGHT (D Dunn) which having initially drawn the outside gate was then shifted across behind runners and when commencing to improve on the inside of KAISER'S CHOIX was carried in by that horse. After this, TOP TOP LIGHT shifted in further of its own accord. In the circumstances, the Stewards believed it was appropriate to severely reprimand D Dunn and tell him in similar circumstances he would be expected to make a greater effort to protect his fellow riders. Passing the 700 Metres, WISDOM EXPRESS and HARVEY MUDD raced tight due mainly to HARVEY MUDD shifting out. Shortly after the 600 Metres, TOP TOP LIGHT was steadied away from the heels of HARVEY MUDD which itself was steadied away from the heels of GREAT IDEA. GREAT IDEA made the Home Turn awkwardly. At the 300 Metres, Apprentice K L Chui (WISDOM EXPRESS) dropped his whip. At the 250 Metres, GREAT IDEA and WISDOM EXPRESS bumped. After the 200 Metres, HARVEY MUDD was shifted to the outside of WISDOM EXPRESS to obtain clear running. KAISER'S CHOIX and KOWLOON TREASURE were sent for an official veterinary inspection. A veterinary inspection of KAISER'S CHOIX and KOWLOON TREASURE after the race did not show any significant findings. The performance of KOWLOON TREASURE, which tailed out, was considered unacceptable. Before being allowed to race again, KOWLOON TREASURE will have to perform competitively in an official barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination. SUNNY POWER and TOP TOP LIGHT were sent for sampling.
