Racing Incident Report

Pla. Horse No. Horse Incident
5 ACE POWER (J181) Shortly after the start raced tight to the outside of SO TREASURE which shifted out slightly. Near the 550 Metres was momentarily crowded by VALHALLA which lay in and away from SPEED SWORD. Near the 400 Metres was held up for clear running. Sent for sampling post-race.
11 VALHALLA (E495) Trainer C Fownes confirmed that from a wide barrier he had instructed C Y Ho to attempt to take up a forward position. Sent for sampling post-race.
7 WOOD ON FIRE (C460) No report.
6 SO TREASURE (H351) No report.
1 DENFIELD (G471) On jumping shifted in and made contact with VULCANUS. Then raced tight between VULCANUS and DAN ATTACK for some distance thereafter. After improving to the inside of VANTASTIC CHOICE after the 300 Metres was then crowded for room between the 300 Metres and the 200 Metres when VANTASTIC CHOICE (Apprentice E C W Wong) shifted in. Apprentice Wong was advised to exercise more care. Approaching the 150 Metres Y L Chung dropped his whip.
4 VANTASTIC CHOICE (G401) Making the Home Turn was held up behind SUPERB WITNESS which was giving ground. Whilst the Stewards were satisfied that the riding of Apprentice E C W Wong, 6th placegetter, over the concluding stages did not affect the horse’s finishing position, he was nonetheless reminded of his obligation to ensure that he fully rides his mounts out to the finish of the race. Sent for sampling post-race.
3 RACINGRACE (J102) As the start was effected reared and lost ground. The barrier manners of RACINGRACE were considered unacceptable. Before being allowed to race again, RACINGRACE will be required to perform satisfactorily in a barrier trial. Approaching the 250 Metres was eased and shifted to the outside of DENFIELD to continue into clear running. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
12 MULTIDARLING (H148) No report.
9 VULCANUS (J150) Bumped on jumping. Between the 300 Metres and the 200 Metres raced tight to the inside of DENFIELD.
10 DAN ATTACK (H317) Shortly after the start was steadied when crowded between MULTIDARLING and DENFIELD which was taken out by VULCANUS. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
2 SPEED SWORD (H397) Jumped only fairly. Raced wide and without cover for the majority of the event.
8 SUPERB WITNESS (H467) After the race, M Chadwick reported that from the outside barrier he was instructed to endeavour to go forward and lead the event. Trainer D A Hayes confirmed the instructions issued. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. The performance of SUPERB WITNESS, which finished tailed out, was considered unacceptable. Before being allowed to race again, SUPERB WITNESS will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
