Racing Incident Report

After being boxed, HOT POT became fractious, lunged forward and broke open its front gate. CHIEF'S FORTUNE began awkwardly and got its head up. Then in the Straight, CHIEF'S FORTUNE hung in and proved difficult to ride out. CLASSIC DANCER began awkwardly and got its head up. From a wide gate, CLASSIC DANCER was obliged to race wide without cover throughout and making the Home Turn and in the Straight hung out. SEA DRAGON PEARL and NAZAKAT II were slow to begin. At the 1200 Metres, TIM'S TONIC got its head up when being steadied to avoid the heels of SPOT ON (D Dunn) which shifted in when barely clear. In the circumstances, D Dunn was reprimanded and advised to exercise more care. Also at the 1200 Metres, CHIEF'S FORTUNE was steadied when crowded for room by NAZAKAT II. At the 800 Metres, WIN IT ALL was steadied when momentarily crowded for room by MONEY STAR. On straightening, LIGHTMASTER was steadied when disappointed for running between TIM'S TONIC and KING COBRA which shifted out slightly. When LIGHTMASTER was steadied, it shifted out, causing MONEY STAR to be taken out which in turn carried SEA DRAGON PEARL out, resulting in it being steadied to avoid the heels of GLORIOUS WINNER. In the circumstances, no action was taken. In the Straight, TIM'S TONIC hung in and proved difficult to ride out. For the majority part of the race, GLORIOUS WINNER was obliged to race wide without cover. TIM'S TONIC was sent for clinical veterinary examination and testing. After the race, it was reported that SEA DRAGON PEARL and GAGNANT were bleeding from both nostrils. The Veterinary Surgeon examined CLASSIC DANCER following the race, had the horse trotted up and was unable to detect any abnormalities.
