Racing Incident Report

LOK WAH TREASURE left the gates awkwardly. On jumping, SUPER COMBED threw its head about. For some distance after the 700 Metres, HIGH POTENTIAL raced tight between ENORMOUS WAY and LOK WAH TREASURE which was endeavouring to shift out from behind STRATEGIC MOVE. About the 300 Metres, LOK WAH TREASURE shifted from across the heels of BOUNTIFUL to obtain running and in doing so bumped HIGH POTENTIAL. When questioned, D Dunn (CYBER GULCH) said in discussions with the trainer before the race it was decided it appeared there may not have a lot of speed on and he was asked to try and lead and dictate the race if possible. He said CYBER GULCH left the gates well, he took up a position beside THE RICH MAN, travelled comfortably, then did not drop THE RICH MAN as quickly as he had hoped on straightening and then in the run to the winning post CYBER GULCH was in his opinion pretty much one paced. The explanations submitted were accepted. GOT IT RIGHT, LOK WAH TREASURE and BOUNTIFUL were sent for sampling. On pulling up, S Dye (EXPRESS LOT) expressed concern with the action of the horse. EXPRESS LOT was examined by the Veterinary Officer. He said he was unable to find any abnormalities.
Additional Veterinary Report (released on 25 Nov. 2002) :
EXPRESS LOT was examined this morning. The Senior Veterinary Officer said the horse does have some mild arthritic problems, but other than this no abnormalities were detected.
