Racing Incident Report

After arriving at the Start, M Cahill expressed concern with the action of DEVON ELITE. The horse was examined by the Veterinary Surgeon, trotted up and after the necessary consultations was considered suitable to race. After being boxed, ASALI became fractious. Before being allowed to race again, ASALI will be required to perform satisfactorily in a stalls test. MULTIDANDY bounded in the air at the start. BRILLIANT EXPRESS and FORTE were slow to begin. KEY TO SUCCESS began awkwardly, got its head up, shifted out and bumped the hindquarters of ASALI. Near the 900 Metres, KEY TO SUCCESS again got its head up for some distance and was unbalanced. Throughout the race, FLASHING STAR hung out. FORTE was sent for a clinical veterinary examination. MULTIDANDY was sent for a clinical veterinary examination and sampling. After the race, FORTE and MULTIDANDY were examined by the Veterinary Officer. No significant findings were made. JOY FAY FAY and FLASHING STAR were sent for sampling. After the race, it was noted WISHMASTER had lost its left front plate. Also after the race, BRILLIANT EXPRESS was examined by the Veterinary Officer. He said an endoscopic examination showed a significant amount of mucus in the horse's trachea. Before being allowed to race again, BRILLIANT EXPRESS will be required to pass an official veterinary examination.
