Racing Incident Report

M Zahra (OCELOT) was fined $3,000 for returning to scale in excess of 2 lbs of his declared weight [Rule 113(2)]. On jumping, ENRICHING got its head up and lost ground. CALIFORNIA HAWK and NOBLE SILENCE were slow to begin. In the early stages, KEY TO SUCCESS hung in. Near the 900 Metres, LUCKY GOOD DAY was steadied when awkwardly placed inside the heels of TOWN OF FIONN which was shifting in when barely clear. Before the 600 Metres, OCELOT was bumped and carried wider by NOBLE SILENCE which shifted out when awkwardly placed close to the heels of ABLE CHOICE which itself was close to the heels of GREAT DELIGHT. Near the 600 Metres, KEY TO SUCCESS was steadied and shifted out to avoid the heels of LUCKY GOOD DAY which at this time was shifting out and commencing to give ground. After the 200 Metres, ABLE CHOICE and CALIFORNIA HAWK bumped. In the Straight, LUCKY GOOD DAY hung in. The performance of ENRICHING, which tailed out, was considered unacceptable. Before being allowed to race again, ENRICHING will have to perform competitively in an official barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination. KEY TO SUCCESS and WYNDAM EASY were sent for a clinical veterinary examination. A veterinary examination of KEY TO SUCCESS and WYNDAM EASY after the race did not show any significant findings. TOWN OF FIONN and SPECIAL KING PRAWN were sent for sampling.
