Racing Incident Report
After arriving at the Start, the tongue tie of NOBLE ZOOM was refitted. After being boxed, AMICABLE became fractious, lunged forward and then sat down behind. When AMICABLE lunged forward, the front gates on the stall occupied by NATURAL MODEL which was inside AMICABLE broke open. CONSTELLATION, which was standing with its head turned to the left, began awkwardly and lost ground. KIWI DASH was slow to begin. On jumping, AMICABLE shifted out and bumped KING OF SPADES, causing both horses to lose ground. After the 1500 Metres, SPECTACULAR TIMES was momentarily steadied when crowded for room inside NATURAL MODEL which was carried in by FORTUNE ALL TIMES (Apprentice K W Tsui) which shifted in when not properly clear. Apprentice Tsui was advised to exercise more care. Making the turn at the 800 Metres, KIWI DASH became unbalanced and bumped the running rail when tightened for room inside KING OF SPADES which at this time got its head on the side and shifted in away from LA MERVEILLE. Near the 600 Metres, RENA'S WUNDERBAR, which at this time got its head on the side and shifted in away from LA MERVEILLE, was checked away from the heels of KIWI DASH (O Doleuze) which at this time shifted out. O Doleuze was advised to exercise more care. In the early part of the Straight, CHING HOI BOY had difficulty obtaining clear running between CONSTELLATION and FORTUNE ALL TIMES, then near the 300 Metres was crowded for room when improving between CONSTELLATION and FORTUNE ALL TIMES which at this time shifted in. Over the concluding stages, SPECTACULAR TIMES hung out. S Dye (NICKU NICKU) said prior to the race he had been informed by Mr A Lee, trainer of the horse, that he had been told by the horse's previous riders that it did not appreciate travelling inside runners and he should therefore ensure he made his run on the outside. He said because of the instructions he allowed NICKU NICKU to become properly balanced and the horse travelled comfortably in the run, then on straightening he elected to direct the horse towards the outside rail as the track had shown itself to be firmer on the outside fence than in the middle of the track. The explanation of S Dye was accepted. AMICABLE was sent for an official veterinary inspection. After the race, AMICABLE was examined by the Veterinary Officer. He said there was minor bleeding from both the horse's nostrils as well as the mouth, however an endoscopic examination showed no significant findings. Therefore AMICABLE was not deemed to be an official bleeder. Before being allowed to race again, AMICABLE will be subjected to an official veterinary examination. KIWI DASH, SPECTACULAR TIMES and NICKU NICKU were sent for sampling. After the race, the Veterinary Officer reported NATURAL MODEL had lost its left hind plate and CHING HOI BOY had abrasions over the left hind tendon area. Before being allowed to race again, CHING HOI BOY will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
