Racing Incident Report

AURELIAN was slow to begin. Near the 1100 Metres, MIRACULOUS was steadied when crowded for room between FAIRPLAY and FUNTRAP which was carried in by GRASS HOPPER (S Dye). S Dye was reprimanded and told to exercise more care. Making the turn at the 1000 Metres, MIRACULOUS was steadied away from the heels of FAIRPLAY which itself was steadied away from the heels of FUNTRAP which was awkwardly placed inside GRASS HOPPER. For some distance after the 900 Metres, FUNTRAP was awkwardly placed close to the heels of GRASS HOPPER and near the 800 Metres became unbalanced. FAIRPLAY, which was following FUNTRAP, was shifted out to avoid that runner. MIRACULOUS and MILLION CHASE, which were following, were inconvenienced. In the early and middle stages, PROPELLOR raced wide and without cover. Making the turn at the 600 Metres, FUNTRAP was steadied away from the heels of GRASS HOPPER which was awkwardly placed close to the heels of DANEMAN HILL. CHOSEN ONE, which was following FUNTRAP, was steadied to avoid the heels of that runner and in turn AURELIAN was checked to avoid the heels of CHOSEN ONE. Near the 200 Metres, GRASS HOPPER was steadied when disappointed for running between CHOSEN ONE which was commencing to improve on its inside and DANEMAN HILL which had its head on the side and shifted in. Over about the final 50 Metres, AURELIAN had difficulty obtaining clear running and was not fully tested. DANEMAN HILL, CHOSEN ONE and PROPELLOR were sent for sampling. After the race, it was reported FAIRPLAY had lost its left hind plate.
