Racing Incident Report
BRILLIANT WIN began very awkwardly, got its head up and shifted out abruptly, causing inconvenience to ACE KING and SPOKESMAN, both of which after being carried wider were checked and shifted in. OH GREAT was slow to begin. BEST CHOICE was slow to begin and then lost further ground when steadied away from the heels of CARE FREE PRINCE which shifted in. Due to the pace in the early stages, a number of runners proved difficult to settle, the most significant being CHING HOI BOY, WINNING EMPEROR and MURCIELAGO which was taken back with the intention of being ridden quietly. After beginning well, ABORIGINAL was steadied in an endeavour to find cover, however, was unable to do so and travelled wide without cover throughout and making the Home Turn was carried wider by CARE FREE PRINCE which at this time shifted to the outside of BRILLIANT WIN, then in the Straight did not close the race off. At the 700 Metres, CHING HOI BOY was steadied when awkwardly placed close to the heels of CARE FREE PRINCE. Also at the 700 Metres, PRO JOY was steadied away from the heels of WINNING EMPEROR. For a considerable distance after straightening, PRO JOY was unable to obtain clear running and near the 200 Metres was steadied when disappointed for running between WINNING EMPEROR and CHING HOI BOY, both of which were giving ground. After this, PRO JOY was shifted in where it was ridden along hands and heels for a short distance before again being steadied when unable to obtain clear running outside BRILLIANT WIN and inside WINNING EMPEROR. Because of these incidents, PRO JOY was not properly tested. Also for a considerable distance after straightening, ACE KING had difficulty obtaining clear running and near the 200 Metres was shifted to the outside of OH GREAT, then closed the race off strongly when in the clear. After the 400 Metres, BEST CHOICE was disappointed for running on the outside of SPOKESMAN and tight inside MURCIELAGO. Near the 300 Metres, CHING HOI BOY was steadied when unable to obtain clear running between WINNING EMPEROR and ABORIGINAL. Near the 150 Metres, MYTHIC STEED, which was closing the race off strongly, was steadied when crowded for room inside GOT IT GOOD which when giving ground was carried in slightly by CARE FREE PRINCE which shifted ground while hanging. ABORIGINAL was sent for an official veterinary inspection and sampling. CHING HOI BOY was sent for an official veterinary inspection. A veterinary inspection of ABORIGINAL and CHING HOI BOY after the race did not show any significant findings. SPOKESMAN and CARE FREE PRINCE were sent for sampling.
