Racing Incident Report

As the gates opened, MAGIC TEMPLE sat back, then began awkwardly, bumped the outside gate of its stall and as a consequence lost a considerable amount of ground. BOOMING CITY was slow to begin, then on jumping got its head up, began awkwardly and lost a considerable amount of ground. On jumping, BOLD WIN was crowded for room between CHECK MATE and CIRCUIT KINGDOM which began awkwardly and shifted in abruptly. When CIRCUIT KINGDOM shifted in abruptly, it bumped BOLD WIN, became badly unbalanced, blundered and almost fell. B Prebble explained that after this CIRCUIT KINGDOM did not feel comfortable in its action and because of this he looked down on several occasions to make sure the horse had not injured itself. He said as a consequence CIRCUIT KINGDOM got well back and throughout the race continued to not feel comfortable in its action. He said prior to straightening he hit CIRCUIT KINGDOM down the shoulder with the whip, the horse did not pick up for him and as he remained concerned with its action, therefore he did not persevere in riding the horse out vigorously. CIRCUIT KINGDOM was sent for an official veterinary inspection. After the race, CIRCUIT KINGDOM was examined by the Veterinary Officer. He said at this time there were no significant findings, however, he did note the horse had lost its left front plate. Before being allowed to race again, CIRCUIT KINGDOM will be subjected to an official veterinary examination. Near the 1000 Metres, GUNG HO was momentarily steadied away from the heels of THISTLE KING. Y T Cheng (NIGHT NINJA) said after straightening he commenced to ride his mount along hands and heels, but it did not respond as he had hoped. He said near the 200 Metres the horse made an abnormal breathing noise and he became concerned with its action, therefore he did not ride it out in the run to the line. NIGHT NINJA was sent for an official veterinary inspection. A veterinary inspection of NIGHT NINJA after the race did not show any significant findings. The performance of NIGHT NINJA was considered unacceptable. Before being allowed to race again, NIGHT NINJA will have to perform competitively in an official barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination. THISTLE KING and GUNG HO were sent for sampling.
Additional Veterinary Reports (released on 21 November 2005)
NIGHT NINJA, which performed poorly, was examined by the Senior Veterinary Officer. He said at that time there were no significant findings. NIGHT NINJA was again examined by the Senior Veterinary Officer at the stables of Trainer C H Yip this morning. He said at this time he noted the horse to be lame in the left front leg. As previously advised, NIGHT NINJA will have to perform competitively in an official barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination before being permitted to race again.
