Racing Incident Report

Due to a malfunction, the bell which is automatically triggered by the Starter's mechanism which signifies the commencement of the race failed to operate. This bell was manually activated. MIRACLE DRAGON was slow to begin and then shortly after the start was crowded for room between BAUHINIA and CHALLENGER, both of which shifted ground. NAVIGATE UNICORN was slow to begin. As the start was effected, DOLPHIN STAR lifted both front feet off the ground and consequently began awkwardly. Shortly after the start, DONGGUAN VICTORY was crowded for room between SABRE AND GOLD which shifted out and NEW TAMAR which was taken in slightly by BIG WINNER. Near the 1600 Metres, MIRACLE DRAGON was steadied away from the heels of FLYING PROFILE which shifted in. Passing the 300 Metres, FLYING PROFILE and BIG WINNER made contact on a number of occasions due to BIG WINNER being taken in by SABRE AND GOLD. Approaching the 100 Metres, FLYING PROFILE shifted out from behind CHALLENGER into clear running and in so doing BIG WINNER was taken out onto SABRE AND GOLD which in turn was taken out onto MIRACLE DRAGON, resulting in those horses being hampered. Just prior to the finishing line, BAUHINIA shifted out and bumped FLYING PROFILE. For the major part of the race, CAPTAIN BUNNY travelled wide and without cover. Whilst the Stewards considered the riding of G Mossé (MIRACLE DRAGON), 7th placegetter, in the run to the line did not affect the horse's finishing position, they did however reprimand G Mossé and advise him that he must ride all mounts out at least hands and heels to the end of the race wherever possible. SABRE AND GOLD was sent for an official veterinary inspection and sampling. A veterinary inspection of SABRE AND GOLD after the race did not show any significant findings. DASHING FLAIR and CHALLENGER were sent for sampling.
